Small characters with plenty to say
Living Puppets gives its mini hand puppets the same thing as its large figures: a personality of their own. Hanne is a good-humoured little adviser, and Friedel, in his smart sweater, is the one to ask about fashion. Zipfel is a dwarf in green dungarees, and Aileenchen is a winged fairy who belongs in fairy tales and bedtime stories.
A voice for every figure
The child works the mouth and finds a voice to match: something grand for Friedel, a deep rumble for Zipfel, a sunny tone for Hanne. Two children with a figure each can put on a scene for one another. With one on each hand, a single child can act out the whole scene. Toffi can exaggerate as much as he likes, because Anita will set the record straight afterwards.
Where the minis come along
At home, they join games of shops, house or school. A handful of minis is enough to cast a whole scene in the role-play corner, and children often get to play the grown-up for once. Speech and language therapists hand the child the mini so the words come out through it. And on a train ride or in the doctor's waiting room, there is always someone to chat to.
Finding the right mini
- Character first: A figure whose quirk suits the child is the one that gets played with again and again. The fairy and the dwarf lead into fairy tales, Toffi suits children who like making up stories, and Anita is a match for anyone full of questions.
- Something to take off: Zipfel's dungarees come off, so the child can undress him and dress him again.
