An updated version of a Folkmanis classic, the dinosaur baby in egg Hand Puppet is ready to captivate your attention. Pop the toothy baby T-Rex, with movable mouth and arms, in and out of the egg to keep little ones in open-ended play. (The dinosaur is played with through the egg.).
Tyrannosaurus rex lived around 68 to 66 million years ago in western North America, across coastal plains of rivers and woodland. A full-grown animal reached some twelve metres in length and walked on two powerful hind legs, the tail held level as a counterweight. Its heavy skull carried about 60 serrated teeth, the largest of them as long as a human hand. The arms looked tiny yet were muscular, ending in two clawed fingers. That bite broke bone: crushed fragments of prey have turned up in fossilised droppings.
Did you know that a Tyrannosaurus reached full size in roughly 20 years? During its fastest phase it put on about two kilograms a day, which can be read from growth rings in fossil bone. Freshly hatched it measured only about a metre, as embryo finds have shown since 2020.
