Her wise eyes and movable mouth tell the story of her ancestors as her front flippers propel her to the depths of the sea and into your heart.
Sea turtles (Chelonioidea) inhabit every warm ocean and spend their whole lives at sea. Only the females come ashore, and only to bury their eggs in the sand. The front flippers beat like wings, so the animals fly through the water rather than row it. The shell is flat and streamlined, the head cannot be drawn in, and the menu depends on the species: seagrass, jellyfish, crabs or sponges.
