The Princess: a Punch and Judy hand puppet from munabo's ART series. The Princess hand puppet wears a pink dress with glittering sequins, long blonde hair and a small crown. Her face is artistically hand-painted, the soft fabric head embroidered and shaped by hand, so no two princesses are alike. The hand puppet is light, meant for children's and adults' hands alike, and comes from a traditional craft workshop in the Czech Republic.
The princess gets the play moving without doing much herself. Once she has been carried off by the robber or transformed by the wizard, everyone else suddenly has a task. The king names the reward, the prince sets out, Kasper takes over the search. Newer plays give her more to do than wait. She outwits the robber herself or finds her own way out of the castle. Waiting princess or princess of action: both roles live in the same figure.
